This Important Cultural Property artwork features a collaboration between Hon'ami Koetsu (calligraphy) and Tawaraya Sotatsu (painting), housed at Kyoto National Museum. In the original work extending over 13 meters, Sotatsu depicted cranes taking flight, dancing, and returning to the shore to rest, with waka poems from the Thirty-Six Immortal Poets written in dynamic calligraphy by Koetsu emphasizing thick and thin strokes over the underdrawing.
